Desktop Analyst Programmer and Corporate Webmaster
AWE Aldermaston, Reading, Berkshire., January 1988 - November
2000
I worked here for a little under 12 years, the first four as an electronics engineer before moving into a computer programming role.
In my final position in the company, I was responsible for the day to day management of a number of concurrent projects. As the senior programmer, I was required to oversee the team of 10+ staff, acting as mentor and trainer when the need arose. As a 'hands on' manager, I also had my own projects to code and document, these projects were invariably in excess of 6 months in duration and were usually associated with the editing and display of data held in MS Access databases.
Acting as an analyst/project manager, I regularly visited customers to discuss, collate and refine their business system requirement specifications, as well as reporting current progress and discussing any changing requirements. I took the lead role in system specification using SSADM and later DSDM and RAD methodologies.
